The Baldwin City Recreation Commission hosts thousands of people at our special events annually. We have strong community support and by partnering with local and regional business, it enables high quality events that you don’t need to leave the Baldwin City community to find, to happen right here. Want to reach large numbers of people, support well run, local events and be part of the overall economic impact of Baldwin City? Look no further, we have you covered. We offer different levels of sponsorship for many different events and we can be sure to find something that interests you. Don’t see what you are looking for? Either through sports, youth activities or special events we are excited to partner with you to continue to make Baldwin City Recreation Commission events ones you don’t want to miss!
The Baldwin City Recreation Commission is offering two different ways that you can become a sponsor for our youth programs and/or our Baldwin City Sports Complex for the 2023 year.
➢ Option #1: Sponsor a summer youth baseball or softball team for $150. This sponsorship gets your name on the back of the jersey for a team in the age division of your choice. We will need to finalize the sponsors by March 31st .
➢ Option #2: purchase a banner(s) which will be hung at the Baldwin City Sports Complex. Banners are 5’ x 10’ and will be on display for the various recreational and high school sports, clinics, leagues, and tournaments that are played at the complex. We will use the logo you provide along with the information you want on it.

Join us in Baldwin City for the Inaugural Thunder on the Bricks car show powered by Cody Anno State Farm! This family friendly event gets underway at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6th. Live music, food truck options and a beer garden will accentuate the impressive lineup of vehicles that will adorn the downtown streets of Baldwin City.

Join us on Saturday, July 1st at the Baldwin City Golf Course for Baldwin City's Independence Day Celebration. Live music, food trucks, beer garden, Kid’s Zone and of course Fireworks will light up the night sky! In 2023 we will see national recording artist Michael Ray visit Baldwin City! Opening will be local favorite, Big Time Grain Company. The festivities get underway at 4:30pm on July 1st and will culminate with fireworks at 10:00 pm.

Get ready for the 5th annual Smoke on the Bricks BBQ contest in 2023, powered by Rice Precision Manufacturing!
Mark your calendars for August 25th-26th for a weekend you won’t forget. This Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned competition is a qualifying event for the American Royal World Series of Barbecue and the Jack Daniels World Championship for 2023.
Smoke on the Bricks in 2023 is a Smokin' With Smithfield grant recipient for the 2nd time in 3 years. In addition, get ready for one of the best Def Leppard tribute bands in the country taking the stage Friday night! Come hungry and ready to party for the 5th Anniversary of Smoke on the Bricks! Can Slaps BBQ become the first ever repeat champion? Will Smokin' Timbers or Gettin' Basted, reserve grand champs and third place finishers from 2022, take the title? Will a new team be crowned Smoke on the Bricks Champion? Be here to find out!
Saturday, October 28th, 2023 will mark the 5th annual Maple Leaf Gravel Grind. We will offer 3 separate routes, a 16, 35 and 70 mile option that will highlight the beautiful fall foliage in and around Baldwin City, KS. Each rider will receive a t-shirt included in their entry. All races will be timed by the Timer Guys.
Ottawa Bike and Trail will once again be onsite offering light maintenance as well as swag for sale. Prairie Paws Animal Shelter will be on site with animals available for adoption as well.
Get ready Baldwin City! The 3rd Annual Maple Leaf Beer, Wine and Spirit Festival, is coming on Saturday, October 28th, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. sponsored by Maley and Son's Construction. This adult only event will highlight some of the region’s best Breweries, Wineries and Distilleries.
Sullivan Square as well as High Street between 7th and 8th will be lined with vendors ready to share some of their best selections with you. In addition to beer, wine and spirit samples, music will provide the soundtrack for this relaxing day, food trucks will be onsite with food for purchase and light appetizers will be available with your ticket.
