
| What is Friends? Friends of the Baldwin City Recreation Commission is a nonprofit organization that opens the door to a world of community lifestyle enhancement. By gaining 501c3 status this group will pursue and encourage funding that is greatly needed and previously unavailable. Through grants and donations, Friends will be able to provide better recreational avenues to our community, which is rapidly growing in populus and therefore in its needs for facilities and programs of leisure. Becoming a member of Friends not only provides you with the highest tax exemption available for your donation, but more importantly provides funding for limitless projects that you and your family can use and enjoy. We take pride in what a unique community Baldwin City is in which to raise our families and live. A friend is someone willing to give back to our community. ~Friends are as companions on a journey, who ought to aid each other to perservere in the road to a happier life.~ Pythagoras Goals Friends has gathered a list of suggested projects. The ability of Friends is not limited to the following suggestions, but needs and wants your input. Development of the park area east of Baldwin Elementary School Sand Volleyball Courts at the Municipal Pool Senior Citizen education center Maple Tree planting drive Baseball/Softball Complex Community Center Inline Skate and Skateboard Park Development of additional park space and green space within the City and School District Development of The City Lake Area Biking and Walking Trails Have ideas?
